Volunteering

Mounted Eagles owes its existence to the wonderful individuals who generously volunteer their time. With over 20,000 people dedicating themselves to PATH Intl. centers annually, volunteers play a crucial role in various capacities. Whether applying horsemanship skills in the arena or contributing through non-horse-related tasks, each volunteer’s commitment significantly benefits the center’s riders.

Volunteers are essential for tasks such as:

  • Leading the horse
  • Sidewalking (providing support to riders by walking alongside the horse)
  • Grooming and tacking up horses
  • Cooling out horses
  • Cleaning tack
  • Fundraising assistance
  • Administrative support
  • Photography

Most centers welcome volunteers aged 14 and older, though younger individuals with a strong horsemanship background are often considered. By volunteering, you’ll gain insights into disabilities, equine care, forge new friendships, and experience the profound satisfaction of witnessing riders’ physical, mental, social and emotional growth. Most importantly, you’ll be brightening the lives of individuals facing debilitating life challenges. Regardless of your location, there’s undoubtedly a PATH Intl. center eager to welcome you.
