Mounted Eagles is proud to partner with The Pohl Children’s Foundation to provide a therapeutic, developmental and education equine-assisted (horse) activities to children who have lost a parent or sibling, as well as children with life threatening illnesses and their siblings called Forever Horses.
As Mounted Eagles partners with the Pohl Children’s Scholarship Foundation to serve children who have lost a sibling or parent and also children who are suffering from life-threatening illnesses, as well as their siblings, we are confident that their experience in working with horses in a therapeutic setting will carry over in the lives of children and families who are faced with challenges related to grief and illness.
The kindhearted horses and supportive volunteers of Mounted Eagles look forward to being a partner with the Pohl Children’s Foundation and the families they serve. Equine therapy may help those who are grieving rebuild trust, awaken opportunity, and balance emotions. Change occurs as the horse becomes the therapeutic emotional exchange.
Working alongside a horse, in spite of our fears, creates confidence and provides wonderful insight when dealing with other intimidating and challenging situations in life. The horse is the magic piece that becomes the “change agent.”
By using horses for petting, grooming, painting, games and music, children will have an understanding friend who will listen to their sadness, anger and grief.
* The Pohl Children’s Foundation has been awarded a grant by Sourcewell to provide Forever Horses to our Foundation children for 2023-2024.*
